The Centre for Conscious Awareness (CCA) - Canada joined non-profit organizations and the City of Mississauga to plant 500 trees during an Earth Day tree planting event on April 25, 2009.
The mayor of Mississauga Hazel McCallion and Region of Peel Councillor Maja Prentice opened the event with thanks to the many volunteers present. This is the second year that CCA - Canada has been involved in tree planting events across the Greater Toronto Area. CCA volunteers felt a closeness to nature, observing a mother bird protecting its eggs and a rabbit happily hopping by. There was also a great appreciation for farm workers and their long days planting crops under the hot sun.
